The cycle of income perceptions and behaviours
Between 2025 and 2026, we undertook an extensive study examining the often-unspoken dynamics of money across the lifespan. We began by observing how children respond to social pressures stemming from financial disparity—whether the stigma of having less, or the scrutiny of having more—then traced how these formative experiences shape adult interactions around money. Our investigation extended to the delicate negotiations of financial conversations among family members, colleagues, and friends, culminating in the complex dilemmas faced by elders who feel compelled to support their children and grandchildren financially, yet find themselves constrained by limited resources.
These insights gave rise to Keeping Your Cool When Money Talk Gets Awkward, a guide designed to equip readers with the understanding and strategies necessary to navigate financially charged conversations with composure and empathy. The work reflects our enduring commitment to fostering emotional intelligence around wealth, promoting dignity, and mitigating the stress that financial discourse can evoke across generations.
